Lagomar

Lagomar is built into the cliffs of Nazaret with breathtaking views over the valley, hangs the famous "Casa Omar Sharif", which was conceived by Cesar Manrique in the early 70`s, to be occupied by the well-known actor. The legend goes that while filming on the island, he lost the property in a bridge game, and never returned. Instead the house was used as stage for films with other stars as Peter Ustinov and Horst Franck. This unique house, built into the volcanic rock left visible inside many rooms, is surrounded by magical gardens, with caves, tunnels and secret passages which transport you into "The 1001 nights".

The Restaurant with its lakeside terraces offers delicious mediterranean cuisine at affordable prices. We usually visit after our Via Negativa walk in the volcanoes. It makes a wondeful contrast and as it is a Sunday there is excellent jazz by the pool until about 3pm.

"At the heart of things everything
can be set in motion by great
passion, love and
total devotion."

César Manrique
