Lanzarote is one of the Canary Islands only 125km off the coast of Africa and is blessed with a sub-tropical climate making it mostly sunny throughout the year. It is also often breezy ... er - make that windy. When the wind is from the east don't bother washing your car - it will get covered with Saharan sand.
